Dios Santos! It finally happened…
Rey gave in to the girls: he now officially has a girlfriend, now the girls’ll never stop writing in the journal and they’ll all want boyfriends now – it’ll be hell. It’s not even as if we’d get to choose. Let’s face it, there’s no way Rey chose Mar. All the girls fancy him cause he’s funny. OK and cool, and he’s got those blue-eyed, tanned, mixta good looks. And he balances rebellious with charming like it’s an art form. And, most of all, he’s not bothered about what anyone thinks of him. Why would he be when everyone thinks he’s great? ‘Cept maybe his dad, who doesn’t think about him at all.
So why’s he going out with Mar I hear you ask? Or maybe you’re not asking that ‘cause maybe you haven’t read enough about Mar yet…
Maybe I should rectify that…
OK: Least good looking of the main 4 ‘popular’ girls – Mar, Alicia, Lola and Sol. Not even up there in the top half of the grade in my opinion.
Yes, I know, looks aren’t everything but I’m not being shallow but let’s face it, if a girl’s got nothing else to offer at least looks count for something. And if you’re gonna have a girlfriend at all why have the least attractive on offer? And, like I say, surely Rey could have his pick? Surely not.
Mar is mean – she makes herself feel big by making other people feel small.
Manipulative – she likes to be in control and is a master at knowing how to get people to do things they, mostly, don’t want to do.
Morose – she moans and complains and is generally gloomy even when being mean or manipulative – her favourite pastimes.
Moronic - ok maybe that’s a bit harsh – I was just trying to think of ‘m’ words!)
Anyway, you get the picture, the girl has been bending people to her will for years through a combination of brute force, blackmail, bribery and Jedi mind control.
Not the dream girlfriend.
So what went wrong?
And why is Rey acting happy?

Weird At Home
Weird stuff is going on at home. Weirder than usual that is. I caught Chell crying earlier. She wouldn’t tell me why, just ran off. Chell’s the help. She helps with everything. Essential since Dad buggered off to the states. Mum’s not very good at motherly things. Any of them. Chell’s at least good on the practical stuff.
I’m too old for the mumsy stuff anyhow. Cuddles and things.
